I'm the proud owner of a new Savage and after taking my bike for its break-in service the service manager tells me that it's customary to have the valves adjusted every 3500 miles,,,,as I scratched my head and asked if this is a necessary service he said,,"oh yes, it's vital that this be done at the minimum of at least every 7,000 miles, if not every 3500 miles." I've read thru the emails and questions on here and haven't come across this topic,,,,is this manager weighing my wallet or this really something that needs to be done on these intervals,,,even the maintenance program doesn't say this is a service that needs this much attention,,,esp. to the tune of about $175 including an oil change? Please let me know what you "Savages" think about this,,,,I'd appreciate the imput.
